Ansh Sachdeva is an international leader in higher education, public engagement, and student diplomacy, widely recognised for his work at the intersection of policy, inclusion, and cross-border collaboration. With a distinguished record of representing and advocating for international students across the UK and India, he has shaped institutional strategies, influenced public discourse, and forged enduring partnerships across government, academia, and civil society.

As the Founder Chairman of the Greater Manchester Indian Student Alliance (GMISA), Ansh leads one of the UK’s foremost student-led bodies representing Indian youth in higher education. GMISA serves as a vital platform for advocacy, cultural integration, and diaspora engagement — building lasting bridges between students, alumni, and institutions.

In his current role as International Business Lead within the Vice-Chancellor’s Office at the University of Greater Manchester, Ansh is responsible for global partnerships, student mobility initiatives, and the expansion of education diplomacy across the UK–India corridor. He is particularly focused on widening access for underrepresented communities and aligning strategic frameworks with global education goals.

Ansh’s leadership journey began in student politics, where he made history as the first Indian President of the Students’ Union at the University of Bolton. During his tenure, he led crisis responses during the 2019 Cube Fire and the COVID-19 pandemic, securing emergency support for students and influencing national policy. His work has been featured on BBC, ITV, Sky News, and in The New York Times.

He was honoured with the Royal Garden Party invitation at Buckingham Palace (2023) for his contributions to education and child services, alongside the Chief Fire Officer’s Award (2020) and the Royal Society of St. George Award (2021) for his outstanding leadership.

Outside academia, Ansh continues to shape public narratives as a radio presenter at 96.5 Bolton FM and the host of ANSHISM, a podcast platform that amplifies voices on education, identity, and civic leadership.

Grounded in values of inclusion, intellectual rigour, and service, Ansh remains committed to reimagining the international student experience and strengthening bilateral educational ties between India and the United Kingdom.
